Itinerary – Green Cappadocia Day Tour from Istanbul
04:00 – Hotel Pick-Up in Istanbul:
Start your day early with a pick-up from your Istanbul hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cappadocia. (Flight times are changeable according to the season.)
08:30 – Arrival in Cappadocia:
Meet your local guide at the airport and begin your full-day tour through the lush and lesser-known southern part of the region.
Visiting Sights:
- Esentepe Viewpoint: Capture breathtaking photos from one of Cappadocia’s most scenic panoramic points.
- Derinkuyu Underground City: Explore an ancient multi-level city once used by early Christians for protection during persecution.
- Ihlara Valley: Hike 4 kilometers along this peaceful, green canyon filled with hidden cave churches and natural beauty.
- Belisırma Village: Stop for lunch by the Melendiz River and enjoy authentic Turkish food in a peaceful riverside setting.
- Selime Monastery: Visit the largest rock-cut monastery in Cappadocia, once a religious and residential center for early Christians.

18:00 – Transfer to Cappadocia Airport:
After the tour, you’ll head back to the airport for your evening flight. (Flight times are changeable according to the season.)
21:30 – Arrival in Istanbul & Hotel Drop-Off:
Upon landing, your driver will meet you at the airport and take you back to your hotel in Istanbul.

Hiking was absolutely beautiful, walking along the river through those tall canyon walls felt magical. Derinkuyu Underground City was mind blowing, going down all those levels and seeing how people lived underground for months. Belisirma village lunch by the river was so peaceful and relaxing. Flight from Istanbul worked perfectly and we had full day to explore everything. Selime Monastery was incredible with all those rock carved rooms and passages.
Ihlara Valley was gorgeous and not too difficult to walk.
What a fantastic tour covering the southern part of Cappadocia! Derinkuyu Underground City was absolutely incredible, went down so many floors and learned about early Christian communities. Lunch in Belisirma was delicious with fresh trout from the stream. Selime Monastery carved into the cliff was spectacular to explore.

Incredible day seeing different side of Cappadocia. Ihlara Valley walking tour was refreshing with all the greenery and flowing water. Derinkuyu Underground City was amazing experience going deep underground and seeing how complex the tunnel system is. Belisirma village setting was so picturesque for lunch break. Esentepe viewpoint gave us great photos of the landscape. Flight timing was excellent and guide was very knowledgeable about the history and geology of each site we visited.
