Konya is different from other Turkish cities we visited. Much more traditional and religious atmosphere. Alaaddin Mosque was oldest building we saw and still active for prayers. The whirling dervish history at Mevlana Museum was fascinating to learn about.

Spiritual journey to birthplace of whirling dervishes. Mevlana Museum contains Rumi's tomb which was very meaningful for me to visit. Architecture of madrasas showed how advanced Seljuk civilization was. Guide was knowledgeable about Islamic history and Sufi traditions.
