Highlights of the Day:

  • Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley): Wander among striking rock formations and fairy chimneys whose shapes are often likened to animal figures. This valley’s pinkish-hued terrain, dotted with centuries-old cave churches and Roman-era cemeteries, makes it a dream location for photographers.
  • Paşabağ (Monks Valley): Witness some of the earliest examples of fairy chimney formations rising several meters high. These towering rock pillars house churches and dwellings carved out by early Christian communities, offering a glimpse into Cappadocia’s religious past.
  • Avanos: suRenowned for its pottery-making tradition that dates back to the Hittites, this riverside town invites you to watch skilled artisans at work. If you’re feeling creative, try your hand at the pottery wheel (additional fee may apply) for a unique souvenir.
  • Göreme: Famous for its dense clusters of fairy chimneys, Göreme is set in a spectacular valley. Here, modern life mingles with ancient rock-hewn architecture, providing a vivid contrast between past and present.
  • Zelve Open-Air Museum: Explore a historical complex of rock-cut churches, monasteries, and dwellings spread across a vast canyon. Admire the centuries-old frescoes that vividly depict biblical scenes in surprisingly vibrant colors.
  • Uçhisar Castle: Conclude your day with a panoramic view from Cappadocia’s tallest point. This natural fortress, carved by early Christian settlers, offers remarkable vistas over the region’s valleys and volcanic peaks.

Loved every minute of this tour! Devrent Valley looked like something from Mars with all those strange rock formations. Lunch break was nice and gave us time to chat with other travelers. Would definately do the Green Tour next time we visit.

Perfect introduction to Cappadocia! Uchisar Castle viewpoint was spectacular, you can see the whole region from up there. Underground city visit was really cool too, cant believe people actually lived down there centuries ago.
